After a hard fought season which saw the U19 Lady Jr Tigers finish with an impressive 11-1-2 record, the team headed to the Edge Arena in Denver for the MSGHL playoff tournament February 26-27.  The team showed they were the team to beat starting with a dominant 8-0 victory over the Colorado Selects. The they maintained this play through the four game round robin tournament  going 4-0 and outscoring their opponents 20-1 during the four games.  This set the ladies up for the Championship game against the West Elk Wolverines, last years champions.

The championship game was a penalty filled, much closer battle than the previous games. The first period ended with the Lady Jr. Tigers leading 1-0 after Hope Lambert scored on a breakaway off a stretch pass from captain Jordan Wilson.  The second period saw West Elke tie it early, until Jordan Wilson's shot from the point, 3 minutes in, found the back of the net to put the Lady Tigers back up by one. Not backing down, the Wolverines fought back and tied the score at two.
After a scoreless third period, the teams got ready for a five minute overtime. After a couple minutes of back and forth play, the Tigers maintained position in their offensive zone an got the puck back to Jordan Wilson.  As she's done many times this year, she found a lane and put the shot over the goalies left shoulder securing the Lady Tigers their first MSGHL and State Championship.   "In extremely proud of these young ladies," stated coach Kevin Dessart.  "They worked and battled hard all season and I'm very happy to see them come away with the Championship!"
