CSAHA's Sled Hockey program is designed to offer the opportunity for everyone to play ice hockey. It is open to anyone with physical or developmental disabilities over the age of 7 yrs old. We offer youth and adult teams.
The youth division is for players 17 yrs of age and under as of 12/31 of the current playing season. Players over 17 yrs old will play in the adult division. (Players older the 17 yrs of age may request a waiver to play in the youth division in certain circumstances - see the Waiver form).
Sled hockey follows most of the typical ice hockey rules with the exception some of the equipment. Players sit in specially designed sleds that sit on top of two hockey skate blades. The players have two hockey sticks that have metal picks on one end so players can propel themselves. Goalies wear basically the same equipment but do make modifications to the glove.
