Trio of Tiger Teams Bring Home Colorado Cup Championships

Tigers Hockey had great success at the 2017 Colorado Cup.  Six teams advanced to the championship game (15U Tier I, 14U Tier II, 14U A, 14U B, 12U AA, and 10U A).  Additionally, 12U B Gold advanced to the semi final round.  15U Tier I, 14U Tier II and 12U AA all took home championship banners!

The Tigers 15U Tier I team went 3-0 in the round robin portion of the tournament, defeating Team Wyoming 5-3, Tigers Minor A 6-1, and the Mountain Militia 3-1, advancing to the championship game as the #1 seed.  In the championship game, Tiger goals were tallied by Matheny (asst. Vucjich) and two, including the game winner, by Komrofske (asst. Cole and Matheny).  Congrats to the 15U Tier I Tigers on their championship run!

At 14U Tier II, the Tigers team rolled through the round robin, defeating Wyoming, Foothills and Mountain Militia by a combined score of 15-4.  The 3-0 Tigers earned the #1 seed in the championship game, beating the Mountain Militia 6-2 to take home the banner!  In the final game, goals were recorder by Rayner (2), Bonnett (2), Miltko (1) and VanDyk (1).  Across the tournament, 14 different Tigers recorded points in a well balanced attack.  Goaltending was solid with both Vanzyl and Lambert only allowing three goals each on the weekend.  Congrats to the 14U Tier II team on the championship!

The winning ways continued for the Tigers 12U AA team as they also went undefeated in the round robin with wins against the Rocky Mountain Wilderness, Mountain Militia and L.A. Jr. Kings, by a combined score of 26-4.  The championship game pitted the #1 seed Tigers against the L.A. Jr. Kings.  The Tigers scored early and often in the final game with Geronazzo recording five goals, Ward recording three, Lindsey netting two, with Remillard and Whitman each scoring goals as well.  Brown was unbeatable in net stopping all 18 Jr. King shots.  Across the weekend, 11 different Tigers recorded points and solid goaltending only allowed four goals against.  Congrats to the Tigers 12U AA on an impressive championship run!
